{"id":207,"date":"2016-12-16T12:55:56","date_gmt":"2016-12-16T04:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bcms.gmhasia.com\/bcminstitute\/?page_id=207"},"modified":"2016-12-16T13:48:08","modified_gmt":"2016-12-16T05:48:08","slug":"business-impact-analysis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/bcms.gmhasia.com\/bcminstitute\/bcms-manual\/business-impact-analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"1.11   Performance Monitoring and Evaluation"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>1 PURPOSE<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>To monitor the performance of BCM Institute&#8217;s Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the BC procedures, as determined by the Management Review.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>2 SCOPE<\/h2>\n<p>2.1 This procedure applies to the Management Review meeting conducted by the Executive Management.<br \/>\n2.2 BCM Institute shall determine:<br \/>\nwhat needs to be monitored and measured,<br \/>\nthe methods for monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation, as applicable, to ensure valid results<br \/>\nwhen the monitoring measuring shall be performed, and<br \/>\nwhen the results from monitoring and measurement shall be analysed and evaluated.<br \/>\n2.3 BCM Institute shall determine:<br \/>\nRetain appropriate documented information as evidence of the results.<br \/>\nEvaluate the BCMS performance and the effectiveness of the BCMS.<br \/>\nTake action when necessary to address adverse trends or results before a nonconformity occurs.<br \/>\nRetain relevant documented information as evidence of the results.<\/p>\n<h2>3 RESPONSIBILITY<\/h2>\n<p>3.1 The Organization BCM Coordinator is responsible to initiate the meeting and ensure that the necessary information is collected to allow the Executive Management to carry out the review effectively.<br \/>\n3.2 Business Unit BCM Coordinators and\/or User<br \/>\nMonitor and record the performance.<br \/>\nImplement actions to evaluate BC procedures.<br \/>\n3.3 Head of Business Units and\/or Process Owner<br \/>\nReview and analyse the performance.<br \/>\nRecord the results of the BC procedures evaluation.<br \/>\n3.4 The Organization BCM Coordinator has the overall responsibility and authority to monitor performance and evaluate BC procedures.<\/p>\n<h3>4.1 PROCEDURE FOR MONITORING PERFORMANCE<\/h3>\n<p>The procedures for monitoring performance shall:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Set performance metrics appropriate to the needs of the organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the extent to which the organisation\u2019s business continuity policy, objectives and targets are met.<\/li>\n<li>Perform the processes, procedures and functions that protect its prioritised activities.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor compliance with this International Standard and the business continuity objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor historical evidence of deficient BCMS\u2019 performance.<\/li>\n<li>Record data and results of monitoring and measurement to facilitate subsequent corrective actions.\n<ul>\n<li>Note: Deficient performance could include non-conformity, near misses, false alarms, and actual incidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>4.2 PROCEDURE FOR EVALUATING BC PROCEDURES<\/h3>\n<p>BCM Institute shall:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct evaluations of its BC procedures and capabilities in order to ensure their continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake evaluations through periodic reviews, exercising, testing, post-incident reporting and performance evaluations.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements periodically, industry best practices, and conformance with its own business continuity policy and objectives.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct evaluations at planned intervals and when significant changes occur.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake a post-incident review and record the results, when a disruptive incident occurs and results in the activation of its BC procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>5 DEFINITIONS<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Business Continuity Management System (BCMS)<\/li>\n<li>BCM Steering Committee<\/li>\n<li>Management Review<\/li>\n<li>Performance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>6 RELATED DOCUMENT<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Performance Evaluation (ISO22301:2012 #9).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>7.
